At least once a day or more, my mind is bombarded with “woulda, coulda, shoulda” thoughts.
Oftentimes these thoughts distract and derail me from being fully engaged in my day because my mind is dwelling on the past few minutes or hours.
It’s hard to let go of mistakes made, ill-spoken words, times of being impatient, losing our temper, procrastination, and sins committed, but we need to if we’re going to move on.
The only way I have found to let go of regrets and thoughts of condemnation is to replace them with the Word of God. Sometimes are easier than others to let go of, but the results are always the same; the Word of God brings my thoughts in line with His.
If you’re wrestling with regretful thoughts, missed opportunities, worries, fears, feelings of depression, or sadness, remember God loves you. He has not abandoned you. He forgives you and is ready to restore you.
Take a moment and meditate on His Word to you.
Give your burdens to the Lord, and He will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall. Psalms 55:22
For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Romans 3:23
But if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. I John 1:9
When I am afraid I will put my trust in You. In God whose word I praise. In God, I have put my trust. I shall not be afraid. What can mere man do to me? Psalms 56:3-4
