Pray for America

It is good and pleases God when we pray for kings and all who are in authority. Today remember to pray for America.

“I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior,”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭2:1-3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Do you mourn, fast and pray over America? Read the prayer of Nehemiah. As part of his country, when he prayed, he confessed his sin, too. It’s easy to point the finger at others and forget our responsibility as a citizen.

“When I heard this, I sat down and wept. In fact, for days I mourned, fasted, and prayed to the God of heaven. Then I said, “O Lord, God of heaven, the great and awesome God who keeps his covenant of unfailing love with those who love him and obey his commands, listen to my prayer! Look down and see me praying night and day for your people Israel. I confess that we have sinned against you. Yes, even my own family and I have sinned! We have sinned terribly by not obeying the commands, decrees, and regulations that you gave us through your servant Moses.”

Don’t throw up your hands and give up. Keep praying for America. We need God’s help!

  1. Great message. I pray for America and all secular and spiritual leaders. We all sin and must stand before God on the Judgment Day; therefore, we should not and cannot point fingers at others. We definitely can be concern about things that are happening in America.

  3. Thanks for this reminder, Deborah. My thinking exactly. We need to pray more for our leaders and for all the world leaders. I’m afraid I’ve been doing more complaining than praying over this lately.
