I love the Word of God! I cannot imagine living life without the Bible!
If you aren’t reading and studying the Bible, you are missing what is MOST important in this life: Knowing God!
King Jehoshaphat knew God!
In II Chronicles 20, Jehoshaphat received a report saying,
“A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea.”
Upon hearing the news, the Bible tells us he was afraid, AND he turned his attention to seek the LORD! Get it? In his fear, he turned to the LORD!
The Bible tells us he called Judah and Jerusalem together and proclaimed a fast. Jehoshaphat was serious about focusing and relying on God. He proclaimed they were powerless before their enemies! He reminded the people of God’s power, provision, and promises. He acknowledged they didn’t know what to do! Yet he exclaimed, their eyes would be on the Lord!
The Bible tells us that while all Judah was standing before the Lord, the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel and he said,
"Listen all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat: thus says the LORD to you, 'Do not fear or be dismayed because of this great multitude for the battle is not yours but God's. You need not fight in this battle; station yourselves, stand and see the salvation of the LORD on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.' Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out to face them, for the Lord is with you."
And with that, Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell down before the LORD, worshiping the LORD.
The Bible says while they were singing, thanking, and praising God, He set ambushes against the multitude who had come against Judah, destroying them completely!
God did what He said He was going to do! Fight their battle!
If you are experiencing fear over anything right now, turn your focus towards God! Acknowledge you are powerless against your enemies! Trust Him to fight your battles! Do not fear or be dismayed because the battle is not yours, but God’s!
You can face your fears, because the Lord is with you.

Thank you for sharing that wonderful lesson. What struck me most was, “Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out to face them, for the Lord is with you.” That we still have to go out and face it, even if we don’t fight it! Thank you so much.
