Can you trust the Bible?
Some believe the Bible is a book of fables and made-up stories. Could they be right?
Whether you believe the Bible is trustworthy or fiction, it is:
The best-selling book of all time, with an estimated 5 billion copies sold and distributed. (Guinness World of Records as of 1995)
The world’s most translated book. At least one book of the Bible has been translated into 2,883 languages; the New Testament has been translated into 1,329 languages; and the Old and New Testaments together have been translated into 531 languages.
Over the past few months, Bible sales have been increasing as the coronavirus pandemic continues.
According to sales from top Christian publishers:
Alabaster Co. said it saw a 143% increase in sales compared to last year.
LifeWay Christian Resources said it saw an increase of 62% the last week in March compared to a year ago.
Tyndale House Publishers also said it saw increase, especially for its Life Application Study Bible, Immerse Bible for study groups, and others Bibles.
People are looking for hope longing to connect with God through the Word of God, while others doubt the validity.
If you doubt the validity of the Bible, you are not alone. Many find it hard to believe in God and question whether or not the Bible is true. Some have spent years trying to disprove both. Try as they may, Jesus said, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” Matthew 24:35. God’s Word is here to stay!
The Bible Is The Very Breath of God!
II Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.”
The Bible is Truth!
Titus 1:2 “This truth gives them confidence that they have eternal life, which God—who does not lie—promised them before the world began.”
Hebrews 6:18, “So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us.”
The Bible Can Be Trusted!
Psalm 119:138 Your laws are perfect and completely trustworthy.
Psalm 33:4 For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything He does.
The Bible is God’s Love Letter to Us!
John 3:16 For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.
You can trust the Bible. It is the inerrant, infallible Word of God.
Great is God’s Faithfulness~Deb

If you believe that any part of the Bible is wrong, then it is all wrong. The Bible is the inspired word of God and as such we MUST have faith in every word. Especially the parts that are hard & make us uncomfortable. These are the areas that God is speaking to your heart about..

I’ve heard it said so many times through the years, that the Bible cannot be trusted because man wrote it, and so much has been lost in the translations from the Greek and Hebrew. The following verses below gives me clarity and assurance that God must have known that there would be things like this happen from “man, His creation.” He still made allowance for this. I just believe nothing can happen in this lifetime without going through His hands first! So, this gives me peace that God allowed the most important verses, at least, to be shared with the world.
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”
2 Timothy 3:16
“For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”
2 Peter 1:21
What is your take on this Deb?

My take is yes and amen! I’m planning to blog on the “Doubt of the Accuracy of the Bible” and the extreme care taken by the scribes as they copied the scrolls. I, too, believe in the sovereignty of God. I know nothing happens unless it passes through His hands for His glory and for our good! Today and in the days ahead, we must stand firmly on the Word of God! It is the Light and Lamp in this world of darkness. Love💕

I love the statistics you included in this post about Bible sales. I remember during 9/11, people flocked to churches. We can’t physically go to churches now, so people are buying Bibles? That’s awesome! Almost better in a sense, since they will be taking responsibility for their own relationship with God, rather than relying on the church to comfort them.

I hope you will be able to attend corporate worship soon. My church has been open for three weeks. Worshiping together is not a privilege or blessing to ever take for granted. It’s good to meet with the family 😊

such a beautiful and meaningful exchange of thoughts. I enjoyed reading through and thank God and ask that He would pour out an increased portion of anointing, wisdom and guidance to Deborah for being willing to share his undiluted word with boldness and confidence.

The thing that I also love about the bible, besides what you have written sister Deb; is that it is a book that shows you your own heart. It still amazes me that after years of reading this book, I always learn something new. My absolute favorite thing about it, is that it is a love letter from God; and we can clearly see that His heart is to love, protect, provide and show us our worth and identity. It is the greatest book ever!

The amazing thing about the Bible is no matter how many times you read it, it still hits differently every single time.
Love the statistics you added there.
