One dictionary defines contentment as “the state of being mentally or emotionally satisfied with things as they are.”
Today it is rare that we find anyone who is truly content with his or her condition in life. The Bible has a great deal to say about contentment—being satisfied with what we have, who we are, and where we’re going. Jesus said, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?” Matthew 6:25.

What a great reminder to stop worrying. It gets us nowhere and doesn’t help. I will never again take advantage of any of the things on your list.

Your words are true! I’m reminded to accept today as a gift and to be thankful. I just thought of something I heard a while back, ”What if the only things we had today we’re what we thanked God for yesterday.” I can think of things that I took as a given, and now that I don’t have it or can’t do it, I wished I hadn’t taken it for granted or sometimes complained about it. This time is definitely a time for growing😊

An excellent reminder Deb to be thankful for things even in challenging times and not take things for granted. When we take the time to be thankful we end up realising there is so much we need to be thankful for.
Blessings to you Deb.

You hit the nail 🔨 on the head! Knowing God is in my today, and all my tomorrows give me the strength I need during these challenging times. How are you doing personally and as a community?

Thank you for asking Deb. Things here are getting better. Number of new cases per day are on a decline. We are staying home and doing what needs to be done. Church is live streaming. Keep hearing in the news if the situation over there. How are you and your family doing?

We are doing much as you are. I am staying out of the public as much as possible. I do get outside to ride my bicycle and walk every chance I get. For the last two weeks, I’ve been making masks. In Oklahoma, they are predicting our numbers to peak on April 21. Presently, our cases are climbing. Hopefully, our economy will open up again soon, but only if it is safe. Worship is online except for Easter Sunday when we worshipped together in our cars in the parking lot 😊

I am thankful that it is spring and the trees and shrubs are blooming and the flowers just starting to blossom. It is a good time to be thankful for God’s gift, the beauty of nature. It’s a great time to relax and rest and give praise for all we do have. 🌼🌷💐

Thank you so much for this, Deb! Sometimes I just look around and am in awe of God’s blessings on me and my family. I could be in a jungle hut somewhere, so when I look at where I am staying-at-home, I am so deeply grateful to God. I also hope, though, that I would be AS grateful if my lot wasn’t so pleasant. I do love your encouragements! Blessings in abundance!

So true that there is plenty to still be thankful for and we *definitely* need to be more thankful for the hustle and bustle of life whenever normalcy returns 🙂

SUCH wonderful perspective!! I was just having a devotional time with my kids, talking to them about God’s call for us to live “overflowing with thankfulness.” May He teach us to develop this heart posture deeper and deeper!

True, true! We have to be thankful and be satisfied with God’s blessing. Today I was feeling frustrated because I have not work for 2 wks and they extend the lock down for another week. However, your post remind me to be greatful. God bless you.

I’m sorry to hear you haven’t been able to work for two weeks and that your lockdown is extended another week😕.
Prayerfully, after this week, you will be back on the job😊. I’m in education. None of us imagined that we wouldn’t go back to school after Spring Break. I am going to school in the morning to help hand out work packets. I’m hoping some of my students will ride to school with their parent so I can see them😊

I can just imagine how much you miss the children. It is not the same with home schooling. Blessings.🙏❤

Gratitude is some of our best arsenal isn’t it? Our perspective is brighter and more in tune with our Father. Thank you, Deb, for these words of encouragement. By the way, how’s the going grey thing going? Blessings my friend ♥

This morning I went to school to hand out distant learning packets to students. I saw a few of our littles. They looked sweet and sleepy. I miss them so much🥰
