🎶I cast all my cares upon You
I lay all of my burdens down at Your feet
And any time I don’t know what to do
I will cast all my cares upon You🎶
I sing this chorus a lot because I don’t know what to do most of the time, but I’m okay with that because Jesus always knows what He is going to do next.
“………nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are on You.” II Chronicles 20:12
King Jehoshaphat received some distressing news that a great multitude was coming to make war against him and Judah. In his fear, he turned his attention to the Lord. He recognized that he was powerless against his enemies and needed God’s help! (2 Chronicles 20:1-3)
Jehoshaphat called a fast throughout Judah and all Judah gathered together to seek help from the Lord, too. While they were assembled together, the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel who said, “Don’t fear, nor be dismayed. The battle is not yours, but God’s!” (2 Chronicles 20:4,15,17)
As always, God keeps His promises! The Bible says, “When they began singing 🎶 and praising; the Lord set ambushes against their enemies and their enemies destroyed one another!” Every man returned home with Jehoshaphat. The Lord gave them victory over their enemies and peace and rest in the kingdom! (2 Chronicles 20:22, 27, 30)
God promises when we seek Him, He will be found! He is our Reward! Don’t wait until you have exhausted all of your plans before turning to Jesus. Every day purpose in your heart ❤️ to make Jesus your first thought and not an afterthought.
“…..If you seek Him, He will let you find Him…..” 1 Chronicles 28:9
“…..For he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6
That’s right! Jesus is not an Afterthought. We must continually make Him our priority. We always need this reminder 😊. Thank you.

So true Deborah. Prayer and seeking the Lord should be first and foremost. We should not do what we want and then expect His blessings. We should do what HE wants and we will be blessed and fulfilled. Great post! Thank you.

The way for many people is spend all the money they can, or talk to the people we think can help us and when all else fails then we are ready to communicate with God. God is not our “sidepiece.” Therefore, should never be an afterthought.
