At the end of the school day, we do what is called “packing up”! I call it organized chaos!
About 15 minutes before the bell, the kids retrieve their backpacks from their cubbies and go back to their table to pack up their folders and anything else we are sending home with them that day.
Once they are packed up, they are “supposed” to be sitting at their desk, “correctly,” which means feet under the table and no talking!
A few days ago, Mrs. T passed out M&M’s to the kids who were sitting “correctly.” She passed by one of our more animated students to give an M&M to someone else, and when she did, he said, “Hey, I’m sitting correctly! Why didn’t you give me an M&M?” Mrs. T replied, “I would give you one, but you are talking,” to which he replied, “Well, how are you going to know I’m sitting correctly if I don’t tell you?”😂
In case you’re wondering, he did get his M&M when he stopped talking!
PS ~ My Faith Expressions shared the following spiritual insight to this story. I liked it so much that I want to share with you! Just like we do. “Lord, I’m waiting. Here I am Lord. I’m doing your will.” And God is saying, “Shhhh! Be Still!” Then He rewards us with good things. Wow! So simple, yet often so hard. Great example within your story. Funny, too. I want some M&Ms. 😂” Thank you for sharing!
Little kids are so funny! 🤣🤣

I love this! I think working with these littles creates a funny balance between aging us and keeping us incredibly young, mostly young because we get to be kids ourselves ♥
