Nearly 35 years ago, I made a commitment to walking daily, and have done a pretty good job at keeping that commitment. I love walking with friends, by myself, or with my dog, Callie Marie. Callie is 12 years old and is a walking machine! She’s smart, too. Sometimes, I think she knows I am going on a walk even before I do!
I enjoy listening to praise music or podcast preaching while I’m walking, and when I’m by myself, I spend a lot of time talking to God. Many times, during my walk, He inspires me with the next thing He wants me to write about. I prefer walking outdoors, but I’m not picky. In the winter months, I walk in the mall when it’s too cold. I rarely turn down a walk when a friend calls. Just like Callie Marie, I’m always up for a walk.
The Lord, convicts me daily that I am to be as diligent and disciplined in my spiritual walk as I am in my physical walk. He reminds me I am to walk ~
- By faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7)
- In integrity (Proverbs 10:9)
- In His statutes (Leviticus 26:3)
- In the Spirit (Galatians 5:25)
- Wisely (Ephesians 5:15)
- Humbly (Micah 6:8)
- In the Light (John 12:35)
- According to His commandments (2 John 1:6)
- In a way that pleases God (1 Thess. 4:1)
- In truth (Psalms 86:11)
- In the same manner, as Jesus walked (1 John 2:6)
- In good works (Ephesians 2:10)
- In love (Ephesians 5:2)
- In a manner worthy of my calling (1 Thess. 2:12)
Walking in truth, integrity, faith, etc., means “living” for Jesus, which isn’t hard to do, if you enjoy pleasing Him, and I do. 😊
Amen! Let’s keep on 🚶🏿♀️🚶🏿♀️🚶🏿♀️
