An Empty Pen

Yea, summer vacation! I guess, if you are working right now, you might not be celebrating, but I am out of school for the summer and enjoying every minute! (I’m not rubbing it in, just letting you know why I’m celebrating 🙂 )

Summertime provides an opportunity to cast off the daily schedule, but I’m a little strange because I happen to like routine. Looking back at the end of the day, I like having a sense of accomplishment, but more than that, I need to know that I spent the time God gave me wisely. I want every minute to count, including the time that it takes to write. I used to ask God to use me as a writer, to change the world, but now I ask Him to simply work through me, to be the ink in an empty pen.

God is the ink, I am the pen

Jesus said, “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.”* I like knowing that apart from God, I can do nothing because that keeps me dependent on Him, which is where He tells me to be, and where I want to be.

If you are searching for purpose or for your niche in life, you will find it in Jesus Christ. If you need help finding Him, I will be happy to help you! Jesus said, “You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.”* *

You will never discover completeness until you surrender your life completely to Jesus Christ.

Until tomorrow, DeborahMarie
